Welcome to the purr-fect little pink building in Granite Shoals, Texas — the first to offer ink and cat therapy all in one place!
Seeing a need for inclusive tattoo shops in rural central Texas, owner and artist Johny Stinks opened Fat Manx Tattoo Studio in 2023.
There wasn’t just a need for a great place for all walks of life to get some tats — just like in most places, the hill country has a lot of cats in need of a loving home.
Now a 501(c) organization, Fat Manx Cat Sanctuary is a proud addition to the largest tattoo studio in Central Texas.
MEET BUDDHA
♡2004 - 2023♡
The original “Fat Manx” and the namesake of our studio/sanctuary, Buddha was the childhood pet and beloved friend of our founder Johny Stinks for 19 years.
During that time, Buddha not only inspired a love of cats, but a love of art that blossomed into Johny’s tattoo career. Buddha taught Johny the joy of companionship and provided an example of how a furry friend can change someone’s life for the better.
Now, in Buddha’s memory, Fat Manx works to not only provide a safe, loving shelter for displaced cats, but find them homes where they can spread more joy and companionship among families.
Deep in the heart
Fat Manx believes “Y’all Means All!” Isn’t just an empty platitude. We strive to provide a safe, inclusive space for everyone to celebrate themselves.
In addition to celebrating tattoo culture, Fat Manx works actively to create and hold space for all walks of life, judgment free.
We believe in the potential of Texas and acknowledge the queer, trans, bipoc, and alternative people who call this state home. Not only do we exist, but we are proud to be here.
